The Polish Bishops’ Conference celebrated the 50th anniversary of priestly ordination of Pope Francis with the presentation of the Polish edition of the book “The Other Francis” by Deborah Castellano Lubov, which was held at the Secretariat of the Polish Episcopate.

„I look at the Pope from this perspective of a unique orientation towards mercy” – said Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference. In turn, Bishop Miziński, secretary general of the Polish Episcopate, noted that “the book complements the image of Pope Francis” and is therefore needed. The author of the book, Deborah Castellano Lubov, Vatican correspondent for Zenit, said that during her next flight with the Pope she would provide him with the Polish version of the book. She pointed out that Pope Francis is still like a parish priest and has a great sense of humor.

Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, apostolic Nuncio to Poland, addressed a video message to the participants of the conference: “I am glad that this book about Pope Francis appears in Poland, and I am even more pleased that it is intended to commemorate the golden jubilee of his priesthood (…) Pope is today for us a reference point and a father who guides us along the paths of faith”.
