“I asked for permission to send an invitation to the Presidents of Bishops’ Conferences of all of Europe to support the initiative that I had addressed to Pope Francis to proclaim St. John Paul II Patron of Europe and Doctor of the Church. I have received such permission” – said Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference and Vice-President of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE) during the meeting of the Presidency of the CCEE on December 1-3 in Bratislava.

The President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference emphasized that he addressed the request to Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, President of the CCEE. He also added that this is an extremely important matter for Poland.

L’arcivescovo Gądecki chiederà ai presidenti degli episcopati europei di sostenere la proclamazione di San Giovanni Paolo II Patrono d’Europa e Dottore della Chiesa

“Ho chiesto il permesso di inviare un invito ai presidenti delle Conferenze episcopali di tutta Europa per il sostegno all’iniziativa che avevo indirizzato al Santo Padre Francesco per annunciare San Giovanni Paolo II Patrono d’Europa e Dottore della Chiesa. Ho ottenuto tale consenso” – ha detto l’arcivescovo Stanisław Gądecki, presidente della Conferenza Episcopale Polacca e vicepresidente del Consiglio delle Conferenze Episcopali d’Europa (CCEE), durante l’assemblea della presidenza del CCEE che si è svolta dal 1 al 3 dicembre a Bratislava.

Il presidente della Conferenza Episcopale Polacca ha sottolineato di aver indirizzato la richiesta al cardinale Angelo Bagnasco, presidente del CCEE. Ha anche aggiunto che questa è una questione estremamente importante per la Polonia.
