This Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of the Divine Mercy. I invite you to a special prayer on this day, at 3 p.m., with the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for an end of the epidemic. In the social media we can publish our requests and thanks with the hashtag #DivineMercy – said the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik.

Fr. Rytel-Andrianik reminded that the Feast of the Divine Mercy falls on the first Sunday after Easter. In 1995, at the request of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Pope John Paul II introduced this feast for all dioceses in Poland, and in 2000, the day of Sr. Faustina’s canonization, the Pope announced this feast for the whole Church.

“I encourage everyone to pray this Sunday especially with the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for an end of the epidemic, for the sick, the dead and their families, as well as for those who are fighting against the virus. In the social media we can publish our requests and thanks to the Divine Mercy as well as photos of the images of the Merciful Jesus that we have in our homes with hashtag #DivineMercy” – he stressed.

Fr. Rytel-Andrianik also invited to read St. Faustina’s “Diary” on the occasion of the Feast of the Divine Mercy. “To this simple and humble nun, Jesus revealed Himself with a message of mercy to the whole world. In the +Diary+ we find words of hope even for the greatest sinners and people lost in life. This message is valid for today. St. John Paul II was a great promoter of the Divine Mercy, thanks to him the figure of St. Faustina Kowalska and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy are known all over the world” – he said.
