The week began with a press conference organized by the “Work of the New Millennium” Foundation during which the 19th Pope’s Day was presented. It will take place on Sunday, October 13, under the motto: “Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way”. “The uniqueness of this year’s Pope’s Day lies in the fact that we celebrate it in the year in which the universal Church and the Church in Poland is celebrating the 100th anniversary of John Paul II’s birth” – said card. Kazimierz Nycz, metropolitan of Warsaw.
The President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference encouraged to participate in parliamentary elections which will take place in Poland on October 13. In “The Word Before Parliamentary Elections” Archbishop Gądecki wrote: “Catholics cannot support programs that promote abortion, try to redefine the institution of marriage, try to limit the rights of parents in the area of responsibility for raising their children, or promote demoralization of children and youth”.
This week, the Extraordinary Missionary Month began. It will last throughout the whole month of October. “Every baptized person is called to be a missionary” – said the President of the Polish Episcopate during the press conference that took place in the Seat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference. Archbishop Gądecki reminded that there are 1903 Polish missionaries who work in 99 countries. Among the witnesses of faith, chosen by the Vatican for the Missionary Month, there is a Polish missionary Wanda Błeńska who dedicated her life to the lepers in Uganda.
On October 3, Pope Francis approved a decree on the beatification of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, Primate of Poland from 1948 to 1981. It recognizes the miracle through the intercession of the Primate of the Millennium. In this way, the last requirement for his beatification was fulfilled.
Next week the plenary assembly of the Polish Bishops’ Conference will take place in Warsaw. It will focus on three topics: A document with new rules for priesthood formation in seminars, issues related to the work of the Delegate for the Protection of Children and Youth, and the celebration of Sunday. The plenary assembly will be connected with the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the institution of the Military Ordinariate in Poland. La rassegna della settimana
La settimana è iniziata con una conferenza stampa organizzata dalla Fondazione „Opera del Nuovo Millennio” durante la quale è stata presentata la 19esima Giornata Papale. Essa si svolgerà domenica 13 ottobre, sotto il motto: “Alzatevi, andiamo”. “L’unicità della Giornata Papale di quest’anno sta nel fatto che la celebriamo nell’anno in cui la Chiesa universale e la Chiesa in Polonia celebrano il centenario della nascita di Giovanni Paolo II” – ha detto il cardinale Kazimierz Nycz, metropolita di Varsavia.
Il presidente della Conferenza episcopale polacca ha incoraggiato a partecipare alle elezioni parlamentari che si terranno in Polonia il 13 ottobre. Ne „La Parola prima delle elezioni parlamentari”, l’arcivescovo Gądecki ha scritto: “I cattolici non possono sostenere programmi che promuovono l’aborto, cercano di ridefinire l’istituzione del matrimonio, cercano di limitare i diritti dei genitori nell’area di responsabilità per l’educazione dei loro figli, o promuovuono la demoralizzazione di bambini e giovani”.
Questa settimana è iniziato il Mese Missionario Straordinario, il quale durerà per tutto il mese di ottobre. „Ogni battezzato è chiamato ad essere missionario” – ha detto il presidente dell’Episcopato polacco durante la conferenza stampa che ha avuto luogo nella sede della Conferenza episcopale polacca. L’arcivescovo Gądecki ha ricordato che ci sono 1903 missionari polacchi che lavorano in 99 paesi. Tra i testimoni della fede, scelti dal Vaticano per il Mese Missionario, c’è una missionaria polacca Wanda Błeńska che ha dedicato la sua vita ai lebbrosi in Uganda.
Il 3 ottobre Papa Francesco ha approvato il decreto sulla beatificazione del Cardinale Stefan Wyszyński, Primate della Polonia negli anni 1948-1981. Esso riconosce ufficialmente il miracolo per intercessione del Primate del Millennio. In questo modo, l’ultima esigenza per la sua beatificazione è stata soddisfatta.
La prossima settimana si svolgerà a Varsavia l’assemblea plenaria della Conferenza episcopale polacca. Essa si concentrerà su tre argomenti: un documento con nuove regole per la formazione al sacerdozio in seminari, questioni relative al lavoro del delegato per la protezione dei bambini e dei giovani e la celebrazione della domenica. L’assemblea plenaria sarà connessa con le celebrazioni del centenario dell’istituzione dell’Ordinariato Militare in Polonia.
