May your Polish roots bear good and noble fruits for the benefit of the people among whom you live, and for the glory of our Motherland – wrote Bishop Piotr Turzyński, the Delegate of the Polish Bishops’ Conference for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigrants, in a word addressed to compatriots on the occasion of the Day of Polonia and Poles Abroad, which falls on May 2.

On the occasion of the Day of Polonia and Poles Abroad, which has been celebrated since 2002, the Delegate of the Episcopate for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigrants assured compatriots living outside their homeland of his prayers and unity with them and wished that Polish descent may be characterized by nobility and goodness. „On this day at noon in the Chapel of Jasna Gora in front of the Black Madonna, the Queen of Poland, I will celebrate the Eucharist in your intention. May the Polish roots, which gave birth to the world-loved Holy Father John Paul the Great and, by God’s providence, reminded the world of mercy and solidarity, also bear great good and noble fruits in you for the benefit of the people among whom you live and for the glory of our Motherland, our Beloved Homeland, Poland,” Bishop Turzynski wrote.

The Delegate for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigrants also referred to the ongoing war in Ukraine. He asked for unceasing prayer for the end to the fighting and the intention of all those afflicted by its atrocities.

In his word to the Polish communities and Poles living abroad, Bishop Turzynski also emphasized the role of priests, religious sisters, and lay leaders who, outside their homeland, „lovingly affirm the faith and Polish identity,” wishing them strength and an abundance of blessings.

The Mass, which Bishop Piotr Turzynski will celebrate for the intentions of the Polish community and Poles living abroad on Tuesday, May 2, at noon, in the Jasna Gora chapel, will be available on the YouTube channel: Jasna Góra – live broadcast.
