At the beginning of the week we celebrated in Poland National Education Day. The President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference thanked the teachers for everyday effort they put into their extremely important and responsible work. “You teach to choose good and warn against evil” – said Archbishop Gądecki.
On October 15-16, there was the Plenary Meeting of the Polish Conference of Major Superiors of Men in Poland. They approved a new document regarding the “Rules for the presence and communication of consecrated persons on the Internet”.
The week closed with the commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko’s martyrdom. It was a part of celebration of the 1st National Day of Remembrance for Steadfast Clergy. On this day the faithful could venerate the relics in the form of Popiełuszko’s cassock, in which he was murdered. Blessed Popiełuszko was the famous chaplain of the working people and was murdered in 1984 by the communist security officers.

All’inizio della settimana abbiamo celebrato la Giornata nazionale dell’educazione in Polonia. Il Presidente della Conferenza episcopale polacca ha ringraziato gli insegnanti per lo sforzo quotidiano che mettono nel loro lavoro estremamente importante e responsabile.
Il 16-17 ottobre si è svolta l’assemblea plenaria della Conferenza dei superiori maggiori in Polonia che hanno approvato un nuovo documento relativo alle “Regole per la presenza e la comunicazione delle persone consacrate su Internet”.
La settimana si è chiusa con la commemorazione del 35° anniversario del martirio del beato Jerzy Popiełuszko, la quale faceva parte della celebrazione della 1a Giornata Nazionale della Memoria del Clero Integro. In questo giorno i fedeli potevano venerare le reliquie di Popiełuszko in forma della tonaca, in cui fu assassinato. Il beato Popiełuszko era il famoso cappellano dei lavoratori e fu assassinato nel 1984 dai funzionari dei servizi di sicurezza comunisti.
