The celebration of the 101st anniversary of Poland regaining independence was the most important event of this week. During the Eucharist in the Temple of Divine Providence, the Candle of Independence was lit, which was offered to Warsaw by Pius IX in 1867 when Poland was under the partitions. He wished that it would be lit only when Poland was free.
In a communication, the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference recalled once again that the eugenic abortion is a discrimination for health reason.
The Catholic Schools Forum gathering principals and teachers of Catholic schools from all over Poland took place at Jasna Góra. The Forum’s special guest was Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
On Sunday, we will be celebrating for the third time World Day of the Poor established by Pope Francis. Its motto are the words of Psalm 9: “The hope of the poor shall not perish for ever”. Pope Francis reminds in his message that “the poor are not numbers, but people”.

La rassegna della settimana
La celebrazione del 101° anniversario dell’indipendenza della Polonia è stato l’evento più importante di questa settimana. Durante l’Eucaristia nel Tempio della Divina Provvidenza, è stata accesa la Candela di Indipendenza che fu offerta a Varsavia da Pio IX nel 1867 quando la Polonia era sotto le spartizioni. Il papa desiderava che fosse accesa solo quando la Polonia sarebbe stata libera.
In una comunicazione del 13 novembre, il presidente della Conferenza episcopale polacca ha ricordato ancora una volta che l’aborto eugenetico è una discriminazione per motivi di salute.
A Jasna Góra si è svolto il Foro delle scuole cattoliche che ha riunito direttori delle scuole e insegnanti di scuole cattoliche di tutta la Polonia. Ospite speciale del Foro è stato il cardinale Robert Sarah, prefetto della Congregazione per il culto divino e la disciplina dei sacramenti.
Domenica prossima celebreremo per la terza volta la Giornata mondiale dei poveri istituita da Papa Francesco. Papa Francesco ricorda nel suo messaggio che „i poveri non sono numeri, ma persone”.
