In Poland Patients have a Right to Pastoral Care – 11 February, World Day of the Sick
Patients in hospitals, hospices and other health care facilities are entitled to pastoral care. Especially when their health is deteriorating or situations where their life is threatened, hospitals are obliged to allow patients to contact a priest of their religious confession, and the medical institution must cover the costs of this service. This is inscribed in Polish law, among the highest-ranking acts of the country's laws and regulations.
Warsaw: Meeting of the Byelorussian Bishops with Benefactors of the Church
The Catholic bishops of Belarus have come to Warsaw for a short visit. On January 24th and 25th, they met with representatives of the German aid association Renovabis, the Pontifical Association of Aid to the Church in Need, the USCCB Subcommittee on the Church in Central and Eastern Europe, and the organization Porticus. These are the largest institutions that have been helping the Church in Belarus for a long time.
Direction youth - One of the Initiatives after THE WYD
The WYD has become an inspiration for many initiatives, including volunteering and projects in the media. One of these initiatives is the program "Direction Youth," produced by the Press Office of the Polish Bishops' Conference. Its aim is to promote traditional values with modern communication means.
The Polish National Pilgrimage to Rome from 20 to 23 October
The most recent National Pilgrimage took place in 2003, in thanksgiving for the 25 years of the pontificate of St. John Paul II. This time, Poles are coming to thank the Holy Father Francis for his visit to Poland and the World Youth Day, and in the context of the celebrations of the 1050th anniversary of Poland's Baptism and the Year of Mercy.

A Divine Mercy image made of selfie photographs presented on a huge canvas during World Youth Day event in Krakow, south Poland, will be exhibited next to the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in the Krakow district Lagiewniki until mid-November. Under the previous arrangements, it was meant to be presented there till the end of August.
