The Permanent Council is composed of: President, Vice President, Primate of Poland, cardinals heading dioceses, Secretary General and six diocesan bishops and 2 auxiliary bishops. The Council prepares Plenary Assemblies and Councils of Diocesan Bishops, monitors decision implementation, coordinates the work of the PBC, and may adopt a position on public matters when this is warranted by the good of the Church, in line with the opinion, at least assumed, of members of the PBC.
