The pastoral campaign under the motto “With Mary and Padre Pio #pray4souls in purgatory” will begin on Saturday, 22 September 2018, at 21.37. It will end the next day at 21.37. The campaign is under the auspices of Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
“Saint Stigmatist, Padre Pio, always knocked to the Heart of Mary to receive the grace he asked for. He tried to communicate the experience of the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to all who became his spiritual sons and daughters. In a particular way he prayed for souls in purgatory” – explains Br. Roman Rusek OFMCap, national coordinator of Padre Pio Prayer Groups.
This year, in the Church throughout the world, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the stigmatization of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina and the 50th anniversary of his death. The Province of Cracow of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins is the main organizer of nationwide events addressed both to the worshipers of Saint Stigmatist, as well as to people who want to get to know him better.
In connection with the 50th anniversary of the death of Padre Pio, on September 23, throughout the whole day of September 23 until 21.37 the faithful participating in the Sunday Eucharist will be invited to say after each Mass at least one decade of the Rosary for their loved ones who suffer in purgatory.
“We, contemporary venerators of Padre Pio, want to follow the footsteps that he left us. Thanks to the commitment of all pastors and faithful, the great community of the pilgrim Church and the glorious Church will join together during #pray4souls for the sake of our brothers and sisters in purgatory” - adds Br. Roman Rusek.
