Millions of Poles at Corpus Christi processions, and to illustrate it is #Procesja

Last Thursday, the ceremony of Corpus Christi was celebrated in churches all over Poland. Millions of Poles took part in the processions giving a public expression of their faith and devotion to beautiful Polish traditions, as shown in the social media #Procesja.

This year's processions were an opportunity to recall the words St. John Paul II said 40 years ago during his first pilgrimage to Poland: "Man cannot be fully understood without Christ. Or rather, man is incapable of understanding himself fully without Christ”.

"Like manna for the people of Israel, the Eucharist is a necessary food for every Christian, on which they feed themselves while walking through the desert of this world," Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki said, President of the Polish Episcopal Conference.

"This is a public confession of faith in the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar, and then in the presence of Jesus Christ in our human everyday life, which we also confess through the processions of Corpus Christi. - The Primate of Poland, Archbishop Wojciech Polak, emphasized in his homily in Gniezno.

Persons participating in the processions posted pictures hashtagged #Procesja on Facebook and Twitter. "Social media can help to reach millions of people with the evangelical message. - said Father Paweł Rytel Andrianik, spokesman for the Polish Episcopal Conference.
