Abby Johnson: I hope that my book, film and visit will help Poles to stay in an anti-abortionist attitude

I very much hope that my books will change the approach to abortion. I know how bad this business has done in the United States. We see the dehumanization of the baby in mother’s womb. I hope that my book, film and visit to Poland will help Poles to stay in an anti-abortion attitude - said Abby Johnson, author of the books “Unplanned” and “The Walls Are Talking”.

Abby Johnson is a pro-life activist. She previously worked at Planned Parenthood as a clinic director, but resigned in October 2009 and became a defender of life. Her story is told by the successful film “Unplanned” and the book under the same title. Abby Johnson started a few days’ tour of Poland. Her visit began with a press conference organized by Poland’s Catholic Information Agency KAI.

“Abortion is a big business, it’s not about the health of women or children. All over the world it makes a lot of money” – said Johnson. She emphasized that the most important thing is that we simply have no right to kill children. “We can’t decide who has the right to live and who hasn’t. We cannot decide on the right to life for people who don’t have a voice” – she said.

Abby Johnson admitted that after “Unplanned” many women gave up abortion. “I get thousands of messages from women who have seen the film or read my book and have had their children born” – she said. She also stressed what effect contraception has on women’s health. “The contraceptives have a negative impact on health and carry risks. Contraception does not reduce the number of abortions. This has been investigated and confirmed in the United States. Most women who come to abortion clinics have used contraceptives” – she said.

Meetings with Abby Johnson will take place in Bydgoszcz, Cracow, Piła, Rumia and Warsaw. More information about Abby Johnson’s stay in Poland can be found at abbywpolsce.pl.
