The President of the Polish Bishops' Conference will travel to Kazakhstan for a Congress of Religious Leaders

On September 14-15, the 7th Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, will be held in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan under the theme “The role of the leaders of world and traditional religions in the spiritual and social development of humanity in the post-pandemic period.” It will be attended by the President of the Polish Bishops' Conference Archbishop Stanislaw Gądecki.

In addition to religious leaders and clergy from 60 countries, Pope Francis will attend the congress. This will be his 38th trip abroad. Its motto is "Messengers of Peace and Unity."

The President of the Episcopate recalled that Pope John Paul II, during his visit to Kazakhstan in 2001, called the country "a country of martyrs and believers, deportees and heroes, intellectuals and artists" and a bridge between Europe and Asia, between different cultures, nations, and religions.
