Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, President of the Polish Bishops' Conference, received today from the wives of Mr. Mariusz Kamiński and Mr. Maciej Wąsik, who are in prison, a letter requesting mediation in their case with the Minister of Justice.

Accordingly, the President of the Polish Episcopate sent a letter to both imprisoned with the proposal that, if accepted by them, he would undertake to make a humanitarian intervention in their case with the Minister of Justice, Mr. Adam Bodnar. At the same time, assuring both men that he understood the reason for undertaking such a dramatic form of protest, he asked them to cease the hunger protest which, after so many days since it began, threatens not only their health but also their lives.

Fr. Leszek Gęsiak SJ
Spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference
