Archbishop Guzdek: Pope Francis preaches the full revealed truth with the courage of a prophet.

Pope Francis takes care of the Church who is not afraid of the time at hand and who wants to fulfil the mission of preaching the Good News, said Archbishop Józef Guzdek, Metropolitan of Białystok, in a homily during the Holy Mass in the Divine Providence Shrine in Warsaw. The celebration was officiated by Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ pontificate. The co-celebrants included the bishops gathered at the 394th Plenary Meeting of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.

In his homily Archbishop Guzdek observed Pope Francis “preaches the full revealed truth with the courage of a prophet, confident that the struggle about the future of the Church takes place on the level of truth. He often points to values which are not accepted by the contemporary world.”

Metropolitan Archbishop of Białystok noted that “The Holy Father has repeatedly stressed that preaching the Gospel is never neutral”. “Christians cannot strike a compromise with the logic of the world. On the contrary, they should remain faithful to Jesus, the sole Redeemer of man, and His teaching.”

Archbishop Guzdek stressed that “Pope Francis takes care of the Church who is not afraid of the time at hand and who wants to fulfil the mission of preaching the Good News.” He added that the pope “Makes us understand that a crisis is not a time of despair but new opportunities.” “Encouraging an understanding of the truly synodal nature of the Church, he strives to ensure that no one is a passive observer who is confined to complaining about the Church, but that everyone is committed to the Church. He continually urges us to reject the peace and quiet, the spirituality of sedentariness and nostalgia for the past, and let ourselves be led by the Holy Spirit,” highlighted the archbishop.
