May 31, 1:30 pm: Mass at Jasna Gora for the intentions of the Synod (announcement)

A Mass for the intention of the ongoing Synod of Bishops on Synodality will be celebrated at the Jasna Góra Shrine on Wednesday, May 31, at 1:30 pm. Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, the Metropolitan of Krakow and Vice-president of the Episcopate will preside over the Eucharist on behalf of the Polish Bishops' Conference and deliver the homily.

Prayers are scheduled to take place on the last day of May at Marian shrines worldwide to support the preparations for the Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, to be held in Rome in October.

The Holy Father Francis encouraged prayers for this intention after the Regina Caeli prayer in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican on Sunday, May 28. "Let us ask the Virgin Mary to accompany this important stage of the Synod with her maternal protection," he said.

In Poland, the Jasna Gora Shrine will be joining in prayer for the synod. At 1:30 p.m., Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski will preside over Mass on behalf of the Polish Bishops' Conference and deliver a homily.
