Wishes from the President of the Episcopate to the new Apostolic Nuncio to Poland

On behalf of the faithful and shepherds of the Church in our country, I would like to extend a warm welcome and assure you of prayers in your intentions," wrote Archbishop Stanislaw Gądecki, President of the Polish Bishops' Conference, in his wishes for Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi, whom the Holy Father Francis has appointed as Apostolic Nuncio to Poland.

Most Reverend Archbishop Nuncio,

It is with great joy that I have received the news of the appointment of Your Excellency as Apostolic Nuncio to Poland.

On behalf of the faithful and shepherds of the Church in Poland, I would like to extend a warm welcome and assure you of our prayers in your intentions.

I appreciate Your Excellency's rich diplomatic experience, gained at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See itself, at missions in Sri Lanka, Austria, and Germany, as well as - already as Nuncio - in Indonesia and Nigeria and - as Permanent Representative of the Holy See - to the Economic Community of West African States.

I place your life and ministry in the care of the Mother of God of Jasna Gora, the Queen of Poland. I ask for the intercession and guidance of our country's Patron Saints and St. John Paul II.
