President of the Polish Episcopate asks that this Sunday be a day of prayer in defence of the unborn

I warmly encourage you to make the coming Sunday a day of special prayer in defence of the unborn. I ask that in all churches in Poland, at every Holy Mass, we pray for this intention – wrote the President of the Polish Bishops' Conference Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC in an appeal for prayer for the protection of the life of the unborn.

"In reference to the Statement on Respect for Human Life in the Prenatal Phase published yesterday and in connection with the ongoing debate on Polish legislation limiting the right to life of unborn children", the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference encouraged "to make this Sunday a day of special prayer in defence of the unborn. I ask that in all churches in Poland, at every Holy Mass, we pray for this intention".

The President of the Polish Episcopate stressed that "life is a gift of God and as such is an inalienable right of every human being, therefore it must be protected and supported at every stage of its development. Respect for life, which belongs to the most important values, is one of the fundamental duties of every human being".

Referring to the National March for Life planned for this Sunday, which will be held under the patronage of the Polish Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Wojda admitted that it "will be a manifestation of respect for conceived life, acceptance of this life in love and an expression of appreciation towards the hardship of parenthood, providing children with the opportunity to grow and develop".
