President of the Polish Episcopate on the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War: Let us make the effort to build peace

We should do everything possible to build peace. The day of 1 September calls us to undertake this effort, to undertake the effort to build peace with our prayers, our attitude, our care, and everything else - said the President of the Polish Bishops' Conference Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.

"1 September is a day that we associate with a great war, with a great drama that affected millions of people. We know from history that millions really died in that war - how many broken families, how many dramas, how many hardships" - Archbishop Wojda reminded and encouraged to make an effort to build peace.

"The day of 1 September is such a special day which calls us to undertake this effort, to be willing to make the effort to build peace with our prayers, our attitude, our care, and everything else, but this peace must first be built in one's own heart in order to then share it with others" - the President of the Polish Episcopate noted.

Archbishop Wojda also encouraged to build peace in the world by caring for good interpersonal, international and social relations, and to avoid all conflicts that could lead to war.

"Let this be a day of peace, a day of remembrance, a day of warning, and at the same time a day of reflection on what peace is and what war is" - the President of the Polish Bishops' Conference encouraged.
