Archbishop Górzyński, Bishop Oder and Bishop Grzybowski – delegates of the Polish Bishops' Conference to the October's Synod Assembly in Rome

Archbishop Józef Górzyński, Metropolitan of Warmia, Bishop Sławomir Oder, Bishop of Gliwice, and Bishop Jacek Grzybowski, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Warsaw-Praga were appointed as delegates of the Polish Bishops' Conference to the October's Synod Assembly in Rome. In addition, Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, Metropolitan of Łódź, will participate in the deliberations by papal appointment. Prof. Aleksander Bańka will be one of the lay representatives of Europe and Cardinal Konrad Krajewski will participate in the Synod as Prefect of the Dicastery for Mercy.

On 16 September, the Holy See announced the list of participants in the second assembly of the Synod on Synodality, which will take place from 2 to 27 October 2024 in Rome.

Among the Synod participants is also the Polish Missionary Bishop Dariusz Kałuża MSF, as representative of the Episcopate of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Furtheremore, there is also Bishop Radoslaw Zmitrowicz OMI, auxiliary bishop of Kamianets in Ukraine who comes from Poland and who will participate in the deliberations by papal appointment. In addition, Julia Osęka, a native of Poland, was elected to represent the North American laity.

Moreover, Fr Tomasz Trafny will participate in the Synod without voting rights as a member of the General Secretariat of the Synod.

On 9 July, the Holy See Press Office published the working document "Instrumentum Laboris" for the second session of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. It will form the basis of the work during the October assembly of the Synod in Rome.
