At the beginning of the prayer, Bishop Marczak pointed out that "we want to join with the entire community of the universal Church, which is abiding in prayer for its Shepherd, Pope Francis". "He has been in hospital for many days, experiencing his union with the suffering Christ. We all want to accompany him in his suffering, we all want to support him during this time, we want to pray for him, we want to be together with him" – Bishop Marczak underlined.
"We look to Christ on the Cross, who as God and man united in His suffering the divine presence in human blood and in human suffering, in human weakness" – Bishop Marczak pointed out. "Through the divine-human union, He transformed our human suffering and elevates it to the heights of the mystery that brings man closer to God and transforms his suffering from mere pain into a sacrifice that has the power to cleanse man from his sins, to transform his heart, to bring him closer to God and to the other" – said the Secretary General of the Polish Bishops' Conference.
The prayer of the Rosary for Pope Francis was attended by the staff of the Secretariat of the Polish Bishops' Conference.
