A meeting of the bishops of the Greek Catholic Church in Poland with representatives of the Subcommittee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for Aid to the Church in Central and Eastern Europe took place in Warsaw

On March 18, 2026, at the General Secretariat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference in Warsaw, a meeting was held between the bishops of the Przemyśl–Warsaw Metropolitan Province of the Greek Catholic Church in Poland and Bishop Gerald L. Vincke, Chairman of the Subcommittee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for Aid to the Church in Central and Eastern Europe, along with Jennifer Healy, National Director of the Office for Aid to the Church in Central and Eastern Europe of the USCCB.

The Greek Catholic Church in Poland was represented by Archbishop Eugeniusz Popowicz, Metropolitan of Przemyśl–Warsaw; Bishop Włodzimierz Juszczak, Eparch of Wrocław–Koszalin; Bishop Arkadiusz Trochanowski, Eparch of Olsztyn–Gdańsk; and Bishop Mariusz Dmyterko, Auxiliary Bishop of the Wrocław–Koszalin Eparchy.

The topic of the meeting was the presentation of the current situation of the Greek Catholic Church in Poland. Pastoral issues and the care of war refugees from Ukraine were discussed. It was emphasized that new pastoral centers have recently been established in Poland, which brings additional challenges. The participants also discussed how to provide assistance to refugees today, as well as how to organize psychological support centers. The bishops expressed their gratitude to the American bishops for their long-standing support in implementing various pastoral projects.
