Statement of the President of the Polish Bishops' Conference
“Peace be with you all!” — these first words of Leo XIV, spoken at the beginning of his Petrine ministry, set the direction of the new pontificate.
“I will continue to proclaim the message of the Gospel boldly and perseveringly, for which the Church exists. We believe in the power of the Gospel as a source of peace and reconciliation among people,” said Leo XIV during his pilgrimage to Africa.
The Polish nation knows well what the tragedy of war is and how much suffering and pain are experienced by those affected by it. For this reason, from this land flows a special gratitude toward Leo XIV for his courageous words and unwavering fidelity to the mission of the Church.
The community of the Church in Poland, together with its pastors, assures its prayers for peace in the world, as well as spiritual support for the Holy Father through the gift of prayer and unity with the Shepherd of the universal Church.
