The Holy Father has accepted the resignation of Bishop Adelio Dell’Oro, Bishop of Karaganda in Kazakhstan. He has appointed Rev. Piotr Pytlowany, a priest of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl, as the new shepherd of the diocese. Rev. Pytlowany has served as parish priest of the cathedral in Astana and as spokesperson for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Central Asia.

From 2023 to 2025, he served as parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Akmola, and since 2025 he has again served as parish priest of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Astana.
Since 2018, he has served as spokesperson for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Central Asia.
