“We are abiding in a time of prayer following the departure to the House of the Heavenly Father of our beloved Holy Father Francis” – wrote the General Secretary of the Polish Bishops’ Conference in the book of condolences.
Bishop Marczak pointed out that “Holy Father Francis has written himself in our hearts, especially after his Letter Patris corde, as a true father towards believers in the Lord Jesus Christ”. “He was like St Joseph – the tender Guardian of Jesus – present in his disciples, us believers” – he stressed.
“May the One Whom he served, Whom he preached, Whom he carried to the poorest, be a reward for him” – the Secretary General of the Polish Episcopate noted in his condolences.
