Archbishop Andrzej Przybylski's ingress to the Cathedral of Christ the King in Katowice will take place on Saturday, 4 October, at 11:00 a.m. The canonical assumption of office will take place on the same day, at 9:00 a.m., at the Metropolitan Curia in Katowice.

The newly appointed Archbishop of Katowice, Andrzej Przybylski, is 60 years old. For over eight years, he served as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Częstochowa. Previously, he was, among other things, a university chaplain, lecturer in pedagogy, and rector of the Higher Theological Seminary, as well as a regular columnist for the weekly magazine Niedziela.
Within the Polish Bishops' Conference, he is a member of the Commission for the Clergy and the Commission for Catholic Education. He is also a member of the Council for Social Affairs. Since June 2022, he has been the Polish Bishops' Conference's delegate for vocations and president of the National Council for Vocational Ministry. In June 2025, he was also elected delegate of the Polish Bishops' Conference for the Pastoral Care of Teachers. His episcopal motto is ‘In Christo’ (In Christ).
On 29 August this year, Bishop Andrzej Przybylski was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Katowice by Pope Leo XIV.
