Le Poste Vaticane e le Poste Polacche e hanno emesso un francobollo in occasione del centenario della nascita di Giovanni Paolo II e della sua elezione a Papa
Venerdì 16 ottobre c.a., in occasione del 42° anniversario dell'elezione di Giovanni Paolo II, le Poste Polacche in collaborazione con le Poste Vaticane hanno messo in circolazione un francobollo con l'immagine del Papa polacco. In questo modo festeggiano anche il centenario della sua nascita, che cade quest'anno - informa l'Ufficio Stampa delle Poste Polacche.
L'autrice del disegno, Agnieszka Sobczyńska, ha presentato il francobollo con l'immagine di San Giovanni Paolo II con l'aureola e sullo sfondo, come di un elemento decorativo, un frammento di un ricamo di suor Lucia dos Santos (la suora portoghese, testimone delle apparizioni mariane a Fatima nel 1917). Nell'angolo inferiore sinistro del francobollo si trova la scritta 100, posta all'interno dello stemma papale, con le due chiavi. Il francobollo è disponibile in tre versioni grafiche e presenta a sua volta: Karol Wojtyła con la Mamma; Il Cardinale Stefan Wyszyński, Primate di Polonia con il Cardinale Karol Wojtyła e, l'ultimo, Papa Giovanni Paolo II
