The missionary vocation, which some people in the Church live, is a special type of vocation that allows the Church to send the gift of the Gospel to the proverbial ends of the earth - said Bishop Jan Piotrowski, Chairman of the Mission Commission of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, on the occasion of the Day of Prayer and Aid to Missions celebrated on 6thJanuary under the motto "From the Last Supper to the Ends of the World".
Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś among new cardinals
Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś, Metropolitan of Łódź, was among the new cardinals whose names were announced today by Pope Francis after the Angelus prayer. The consistory, at which the Holy Father will present the cardinal insignia to the twenty-one cardinal nominees, will occur on 30 September this year.

The main intention of the Feast of Thanksgiving this year is to pray for a just peace in Ukraine, as well as among us, in our homeland, and in our hearts. Mutual forgiveness is necessary. The Eucharist on the occasion of the Solemnity of Our Lady of Czestochowa was presided in the Sanctuary of Jasna Gora by Archbishop Wojciech Polak, Primate of Poland, and concelebrated by many bishops and international guests i.a. Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. In the Holy Mass participated tens of thousands of pilgrims.
