We could say that this has been one of the most important events in more than 1000-year long history of Poland. For the first time, a meeting was attended by young people from over 180 countries.

(Vatican Radio) On the last day of his pastoral visit to Mexico, Pope Francis on Wednesday visits inmates at a prison in Ciudad Juarez on the U.S.-Mexico border. Before heading back to Rome Wednesday evening, he will also meet people from the working world and celebrate Mass in the city located just across the border from El Paso. On Tuesday, the Holy Father visited Morelia in central Mexico where he celebrated Mass with religious, consecrated people and seminarians and later was greeted by tens of thousands of young people at the local stadium.

Pope and Patriarch's encounter is 'sign of hope' for all Christians
(Vatican Radio) The Vatican and the Russian Orthodox Church announced on Friday that Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill will hold a historic first encounter in Cuba on February 12th. A statement released jointly in Moscow and in Rome said the meeting will mark “an important stage in relations” between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches and a “sign of hope for all people of good will”.
Direction youth - One of the Initiatives after THE WYD
The WYD has become an inspiration for many initiatives, including volunteering and projects in the media. One of these initiatives is the program "Direction Youth," produced by the Press Office of the Polish Bishops' Conference. Its aim is to promote traditional values with modern communication means.

The main speaker was Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, President of the Pontifical Council for Health Workers, who reminded his listeners that the main Eucharistic celebration of this year's Day of the Sick (marked annually on February 11th) will take place at Nazareth in the Holy Land.

Bishop Litynski's invitation to pray for the created world
Bishop Tadeusz Litynski, Chairman of the "Laudato si" Team at the Social Council of the Polish Episcopate, encourages the faithful to unite in prayer with the Holy Father and the whole world during the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, celebrated on September 1, and to take other initiatives to protect the environment. The day will mark the beginning of Time for Creation, lasting until St. Francis Sunday, celebrated in early October.
