Communiqué After the Council of Diocesan Bishops
The beatification of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński and Mother Elżbieta Rosa Czacka, the Ad Limina visit of the Polish Bishops, the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican, and the situation of migrants and refugees – these are the most important issues raised in the communiqué of the session of the Diocesan Bishops’ Council held at Jasna Góra on August 25th.

A humane and evangelical response to the problems of migrants and refugees must never be restricted or suspended by any jurisdiction. Hospitality towards a foreigner is one of the indicators of our faith - wrote the chairman of the Council of the Polish Episcopate for Migration and Pilgrimages, Bishop Krzysztof Zadarko, in the communiqué on refugees who are reaching Poland.
All dioceses in Poland celebrated the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The Church in Poland has actively participated in celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, January 14. In many churches throughout the country there were masses celebrated according form “For Refugees and Exiles”. The Polish Bishops’ Conference appealed to the faithful to engage in specific assistance to migrants from the Middle East and Ukraine. There are 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.
The President of the Polish Episcopate Encourages Hospitality Towards Refugees
Poland's Baptism over 1050 years ago had social, cultural, popular and national dimensions—said Archbishop Stanislaw Gądecki during the XXV Pilgrimage of Radio Maryja to Jasna Gora, which gathered nearly 100,000 people. The President of the Polish Bishops' Conference urged the Church in Poland to care for the neediest, including migrants and refugees, as an example of the attitude of Christian charity.
Cardinal Tagle visits Syrian refugees in Lebanon
(Vatican Radio) Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, President of Caritas Internationalis, visited Syrian refugees and migrant workers in Lebanon and urged the international community and political leaders to “set aside greed and self-interest” to solve Syria’s conflict for the sake of its “suffering” people.
