April 29th: Day of Martyrdom of the Polish Clergy during World War II
On Thursday, April 29th, we celebrate the National Day of Martyrdom of the Polish Clergy, on the 76th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp in Dachau. The main celebrations, as every year, will be held at St. Joseph's Sanctuary in Kalisz. At noon, Holy Mass will be presided over by Bishop Grzegorz Suchodolski of Siedlce.

"The anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising is an appeal to love one’s neighbor, for respect and recognition of the dignity of every human being. It should be unequivocally recalled that, in light of the Gospel, any manifestation of hatred and aggression, including anti-Semitism, is a sin" – stresses bishop Rafał Markowski, the chairman of the Episcopal Committee for Dialogue with Judaism, pointing out that the Ghetto insurgents are a symbol of the fight for freedom.
Poland: 76th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz. Over 200,000 children killed
January 27 is the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz. The 76th anniversary theme, celebrated for the first time online, addresses the martyrdom of over 200,000 children and the fate of those few who have survived. Since 2005, International Holocaust Victims Day has been established on this date.
Caritas Polska Turns 30 – It Started with Three People
Caritas Polska is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Caritas began with three people working on the top floor of the seat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
