Spokesman of the Polish Episcopate: The Church is not against responsible sex education
The Catholic Church is not against responsible sex education. As part of courses for future spouses, classes are also conducted on topics related to sex life and responsible parenthood – indicates the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, who comments on the discussion in the media. He also reminds that there is already a “Preparation for marriage and family life” program in schools.
Pope’s Day: Several thousand young people granted with scholarships
On the 102nd anniversary of the last Fatima apparition, the 19th Pope’s Day was celebrated in Poland under the motto “Rise! Let Us Be On Our Way”, organized by the “Work of the New Millennium” Foundation, which collects funds for scholarships for talented and unprivileged youth from small towns. During the nineteen years of its activity, the Foundation has taken care of several thousand young people from all over Poland in accordance with Pope Wojtyła’s call to “a new imagination of mercy”.

On the 2nd Sunday of Advent, the Day of prayer and material help for the Church in the East, is celebrated in the Church in Poland. The aim of this day is the spiritual and material support of the Catholic Church in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, i.e. in Armenia Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia and Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

The celebration of the 101st anniversary of Poland regaining independence was the most important event of this week. During the Eucharist in the Temple of Divine Providence, the Candle of Independence was lit, which was offered to Warsaw by Pius IX in 1867 when Poland was under the partitions. He wished that it would be lit only when Poland was free.
