The Pope drew attention to Archbishop Gadecki’s Speech
Speaking with the Polish delegation on October 10th, during the session’s break, Pope Francis expressed interest in the speech of the Synod Father from Poland, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki. The Pope said that he liked it, especially because a biblical scholar addressed a social issue. “The Holy Father drew attention to Archbishop Gądecki’s pertinent observations regarding the new totalitarianism that is shaping the attitudes of young people and destroying them,” reported Bishop Marian Florczyk, who was present at the meeting with the Pope.
CCEE in Poland to speak about solidarity in Europe
At the invitation of His Grace Mgr Stanisław Gądecki, Archbishop of Poznań, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference and Vice-president of CCEE, the church body which sees the participation of the Presidents of all the Bishops’ Conferences representing 45 nations of the continent, the annual Plenary Assembly of the Council of European Episcopal Conferences (CCEE) will take place from 13-16 September in Poznań (Poland).

The Polish Bishops’ Conference on 379th Plenary Meeting, on June 8, adopted the „Pastoral Guidelines for the Exhortation Amoris Laetitia”. Bishops emphasize the need to serve the engaged, spouses and families as well as people living in irregular relationships according to the pastoral criteria proposed by Pope Francis: acceptance, accompaniment, discernment and integration. The document does not address the issue of holy communion for people living in non-sacramental relationships.

During the diocesan celebrations in the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity and St. Anna in Prostyn, the crown and nimbus blessed by Pope Francis were imposed on the miraculous statue of the Holy Trinity, called the Throne of Grace. The ceremony took place on May 27, at the end of the octave for the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of St. Anna in Prostyn.
