Polish Synod Fathers: Let us help young people to listen to Jesus (third day of the synod)
The word “listen” is one of those most frequently repeated in the synod. In a special way, the need for the Church to listen to the voice of young people is emphasized. This is very important, but our task is, above all, to help young people to listen to the voice of Jesus, said Bishop Florczyk from Poland on Saturday during the third working day of the synod.
On Saturday, October 6 th , the synod’s participants discussed in working groups, concentrating on the first part of the working document of the synod, the Instrumentum Laboris, dedicated to the analysis of the context in which young people live and the actions
the Church undertakes to meet them. In the afternoon, there was a meeting that brought together the Pope and the Synod Fathers with young people.

The postmodern world rejects all objectivity, stability, normativity, as well as normality. The call for principles is not popular in the present world, which is marked by the crisis of faith and reason – said archbishop Gadecki, the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, in the homily at the grave of St. John Paul II in St. Peter’s Basilica, on October 4th. On Thursday, September 20, the representatives of the National Police Headquarters and the Church in Poland met in the Secretariat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference in Warsaw to promote together road safety and encourage pedestrians to join the “Pass it on” campaign. As the organizers explain, the point is to give each other reflectors with dedication, so that they remind us of the need for safety. “Give your family and friends a reflector as a gift. Reflectors mean simply life”, said Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, spokesman of the Episcopate.
Meeting at the summit of the Catholic Church of Europe in Poznań (Poland)
Presidents of the Bishops’ Conferences of European countries will meet in Poznan on 13-16 September 2018 at the plenary assembly. On behalf of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, this year’s meeting will be hosted by Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Metropolitan of Poznań and Vice-President of the Council of Bishops’ Conferences of Europe (CCEE).

Every fifth diocesan priest was murdered in Poland occupied by the Germans and Russians. Four Polish bishops were killed in the concentration camps, and nearly half of the Roman Catholic dioceses were deprived of diocesan bishops. It was also a war with religion – said the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, on the 79th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.

Celebrations in Poznan of the 1050th anniversary of the first bishopric in Poland
The jubilee celebrations were held on 22-24 June under the motto “Poznan. Christ and us”. They were presided over by the papal legate Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague and Primate of the Czech Republic. The culminating moment of the three-day celebrations was the Eucharist, on June 23, on the square in front of the Poznan Cathedral, during which the message of Pope Francis was read. Several dozen bishops participated in it, including Apostolic Nuncio to Poland Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki, Archbishop Marek Jedraszewski and Archbishop Wojciech Polak.
