As an answer to the accusations against Cardinal A. Hlond, Primate of Poland, of his negative attitude towards the Jewish people, on basis of the Primate’s Lenten Pastoral Letter from 1936 entitled „Catholic moral principles”, and of the alleged lack of reaction of Card. Hlond after the Kielce pogrom in 1946, the Postulation Office of Card. Hlond released a statement and two documents showing the relationship of Card. Hlond to the Jewish people.
Bhopal Archbishop urges MP govt. to check Christians' unemployment ‎
Alarmed over rising unemployment rates among Christians in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, the local archbishop has called on the state government to take steps to reverse the tide. The government should formulate "measures to eradicate" unemployment among Christians so "that the trust and confidence can be formed among the (religious) minority community," said Archbishop Leo Cornelio of Bhopal in a statement on Feb. 24.

Bishops of Congo call on nation to embrace love and forgiveness
Congo Brazzaville's Catholic newspaper, “La Semaine Africaine” reports this week that the Bishops of Congo Brazzaville, at the end of their Plenary Assembly, have released a pastoral statement calling on the people of the Republic of Congo to live their “Christian vocation as witnesses of God’s mercy to others.” This, the Bishops emphasise, “means showing God’s forgiveness, compassion, tenderness and love, to build a fairer Congo, where unity, reconciliation, dialogue, harmony and sharing take precedence over selfishness, hatred, rancour, vindictiveness and divisions,” the Bishops emphasise.
Pontifical Commission on Minors concludes Plenary
(Vatican Radio) The Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors has released a communiqué at the end of its week-long Plenary Assembly at the Vatican. Dated February 8, 2016, the statement details the focal points and proposals that emerged from the six Working Groups of the session, including a request for Pope Francis to remind all authorities in the Church of the importance of responding directly to victims and survivors who approach them, the finalization of a Universal Day of Prayer, and a penitential liturgy.
