A Service of Polish-Ukrainian “Forgiveness and Reconciliation” at Warsaw Cathedral
A Service of “Forgiveness and Reconciliation” took place at Warsaw Cathedral on Friday, July 7. The event was part of the Church celebrationsof the 80thanniversary of the Volhynia Massacre. The service was attended by representatives of the Catholic Church in Poland, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine. A joint message was signed during the ceremony.

“This year, we celebrate the 23rd World Day for Consecrated Life established by Pope John Paul II as a day of gratitude for the presence of consecrated persons in the Church and in the world. This year’s theme concerns young people and their vocation, as well as the commitment of consecrated people to the ministry of youth - said Bishop Jacek Kicinski CMF, chairman of the Committee for the Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
All dioceses in Poland celebrated the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The Church in Poland has actively participated in celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, January 14. In many churches throughout the country there were masses celebrated according form “For Refugees and Exiles”. The Polish Bishops’ Conference appealed to the faithful to engage in specific assistance to migrants from the Middle East and Ukraine. There are 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.
