Poland: the 2nd Sunday of Lent, called "Ad Gentes", is dedicated to the mission
Since 2005, the second Sunday of Lent has been dedicated to the concrete support of the missions, both through prayer and fasting, and through fundraising in the parishes. Last year, over 1.4 million PLN were raised, with which the missionaries carried out 99 evangelization, educational, medical and charity projects.

Archbishop Zimowski Has Gone to the Father's House
On Tuesday, 12 July, shortly before midnight, Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, President of the Pontifical Council for the Sick and the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers (Vatican Minister of Health) and Senior Bishop of the Diocese of Radom, died. Today's beatification is a sign of consolation from God, in times marked by wounds inflicted by violence and war – said Cardinal Marcello Semeraro at the Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki. The Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints presided on Saturday, 15 June, over the Mass of Beatification of Father Michał Rapacz, a parish priest from Płoki murdered by the communists on 12 May 1946. 12 May will henceforth be the day of the liturgical commemoration of the new Blessed.
Cardinal Nycz at the Feast of Thanksgiving: As Christians, we should be able to forgive
The main intention of the Feast of Thanksgiving this year is to pray for a just peace in Ukraine, as well as among us, in our homeland, and in our hearts. Mutual forgiveness is necessary. As Christians we should be able to forgive – said Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Metropolitan of Warsaw, at the beginning of the Holy Mass in the Shrine of Divine Providence during the 15th Feast of Thanksgiving.
Presentation of the first volume of Karol Wojtyła’s literary and theatrical works
During the 25th Catholic Publishers Fair, the first volume of Karol Wojtyła’s “Literary and Theatrical Works” entitled “Juvenilia” (1938-1946) was presented at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. This is the first critical, scientific elaboration of Karol Wojtyła’s texts, containing texts that were previously unknown, including the love poem of the future Pope.

On Saturday, 6 September, at 11:00 a.m., a Holy Mass will be celebrated at Freedom Square (Vabaduse väljak) in Tallinn, with the beatification ceremony of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich SJ (1890–1942). The beatification ceremony will be presided over by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna, the envoy of Pope Leo XIV.
