All dioceses in Poland celebrated the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The Church in Poland has actively participated in celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, January 14. In many churches throughout the country there were masses celebrated according form “For Refugees and Exiles”. The Polish Bishops’ Conference appealed to the faithful to engage in specific assistance to migrants from the Middle East and Ukraine. There are 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.

“We have been waiting for this moment for 225 years,” emphasized the Metropolitan of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, at the beginning of the first Mass celebrated in the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw’s District of Wilanow. On November 11th, Poland’s Independence Day, this church, under construction by the Poles since the adoption of the Constitution in 1791, was opened to the faithful. The work on this edifice—intended to be an ex-voto—was impeded first by the partition of Poland, then by World War II and the communist government.
Primate of Poland: We Are Prolonging the Joy of the May Solemnity of Our Lady, Queen of Poland
Poland's Primate, Archbishop Wojciech Polak, presided over today's celebrations of the Solemnity of Our Lady of Czestochowa at Jasna Gora. In his homily, the Primate noted that, with this celebration, we are, in a certain way, prolonging the joy of May's Solemnity of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, when, on the occasion of the 1050th anniversary of Poland's Baptism, we renewed our consecration to the Mother of the Redeemer.
