Message for 2016 World Day of the Sick presented in Vatican
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis’ message for the 2016 World Day of the Sick was officially presented at a press conference in the Holy See’s Press Office on Thursday. The main speaker was Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, President of the Pontifical Council for Health Workers, who reminded his listeners that the main Eucharistic celebration of this year's Day of the Sick (marked annually on February 11th) will take place at Nazareth in the Holy Land.

Patients in hospitals, hospices and other health care facilities are entitled to pastoral care. Especially when their health is deteriorating or situations where their life is threatened, hospitals are obliged to allow patients to contact a priest of their religious confession, and the medical institution must cover the costs of this service. This is inscribed in Polish law, among the highest-ranking acts of the country's laws and regulations.

(Vatican Radio) On the last day of his pastoral visit to Mexico, Pope Francis on Wednesday visits inmates at a prison in Ciudad Juarez on the U.S.-Mexico border. Before heading back to Rome Wednesday evening, he will also meet people from the working world and celebrate Mass in the city located just across the border from El Paso. On Tuesday, the Holy Father visited Morelia in central Mexico where he celebrated Mass with religious, consecrated people and seminarians and later was greeted by tens of thousands of young people at the local stadium.
