On Saturday, 3 August, the Sanctuary of Blessed Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński in Zuzela in the Diocese of Łomża, will hold celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the priestly ordination and the 123rd anniversary of the birth of the Primate of the Millennium. Jubilee celebrations are also planned at Jasna Góra, the Warsaw Archcathedral and the Włocławek Cathedral.

Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński was born on 3 August 1901 in Zuzela, on the border between Mazovia and Podlasie, on the first Saturday of the month. Every year around this day, in the parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord, celebrations take place there to mark the name day, birthday and anniversary of the priestly ordination of the Primate of the Millennium.

This year marks exactly the 100th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, which he received from the hands of Bishop Wojciech Owczarek. On this occasion, on 3 August, at 11 a.m., a Mass will be celebrated at the Sanctuary in Zuzela, presided over by the Bishop of Łomża, Janusz Stepnowski. It will also be possible to visit the Museum of the Childhood Years of Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński, which exists at the Sanctuary.

The 100th anniversary of Cardinal Wyszyński’s ordination to the priesthood is also a special event for the Diocese of Włocławek, where the later Primate of the Millennium was ordained priest.

A Mass to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ordination of Blessed Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński will also be celebrated on 3 August at 7 p.m. at Warsaw Archcathedral.
