On 24 May 2024, Auxiliary Bishop Senior of the Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiec Janusz Zimniak passed away in the Bielsko-Biała Regional Hospital. He was 90 years old, 68 in the priesthood.

He was auxiliary bishop of Katowice from 1980 to 1992 and auxiliary bishop of Bielsko-Żywiec from 1992 to 2010.
