Polish Bishops: the need for service to marriage and the family as well as people in non-sacramental relationships
The Polish Bishops’ Conference on 379th Plenary Meeting, on June 8, adopted the „Pastoral Guidelines for the Exhortation Amoris Laetitia”. Bishops emphasize the need to serve the engaged, spouses and families as well as people living in irregular relationships according to the pastoral criteria proposed by Pope Francis: acceptance, accompaniment, discernment and integration. The document does not address the issue of holy communion for people living in non-sacramental relationships. -

Protection of the life of each person, nationwide Church celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence and the election of the Church Personal Data Inspector - these were the main issues raised at the session of the Permanent Council of the Polish Episcopate, which took place at Jasna Góra on May 2, 2018. -
All dioceses in Poland celebrated the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The Church in Poland has actively participated in celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, January 14. In many churches throughout the country there were masses celebrated according form “For Refugees and Exiles”. The Polish Bishops’ Conference appealed to the faithful to engage in specific assistance to migrants from the Middle East and Ukraine. There are 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland. -
Presidium of the Polish Episcopate thanks the organizers, volunteers, signatories and parliamentarians voting for life
- On behalf of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, we thank the organizers of the civic legislative initiative “Halt abortion”, volunteers collecting signatures, 830,000 of citizens who have signed up to this draft law and all the parliamentarians who – by voting for life – supported this civic draft law. We trust that soon the legal guarantees to protect the lives of the weakest will be increased by stopping eugenic abortion – to quote from the Communication of the Presidium of the Polish Bishops’ Conference from January 11, 2018. -
Appeal of the Presidium of the Polish Bishops’ Conference on stopping eugenic abortion
There will soon be proceeded the civic legislative initiative “Halt Abortion”, which presupposes the removal of the possibility of killing a child due to the suspicion of disability or illness (eugenic abortion). The Polish Bishops’ Conference from the beginning supports this initiative as an important step to full protection of life and thanks some 830,000 Polish citizens who have signed the draft law. -
Poland: 1,2 million people took part in The Marches of the Three Kings!
Under the motto "God is for everyone", on January 6, in over 660 cities and towns in Poland and abroad went the March of the Three Kings. This year it was accompanied by the fundraising "Kings for the East", the income from which will be delivered to cultural and educational institutions operating beyond the eastern border as well as in Poland for the benefit of the eastern citizens. -
President of the Polish Episcopate: It was a good year
The first National Day of Reading the Holy Scriptures, the first document of the Episcopate devoted entirely to patriotism, the first Day of the Poor - listed the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki, speaking about new initiatives that appeared in the Church in 2017.
