Pope Francis meets with Mexican Families
On Monday evening Pope Francis flew to the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez, the capital of the Mexican southeast state of Chiapas, where he met with families in the city’s stadium (the stadium of Tuxtla Gutierrez). Before addressing the gathering, he listened to testimonies by people from different family situations who included a civilly married couple of divorced parents who are actively involved with charitable work, a disabled adolescent who found joy in being accepted by the church and is now active in the evangelization of other youth, a single mother who was rejected by society but welcomed with love in the Church, and a catholic family of the diocese of Tapachula.

We take it to be our main goal to show to Catholics that in spite of difficult issues, we must believe in the Church and trust Her. We need to believe in the Church because it is a dual reality, Divine and human. We must trust the Church because She is founded on the authority of God Himself - said Bishop Andrzej Czaja, Chairman of the Pastoral Ministry Commission of the Polish Bishops’ Conference. A new Pastoral Program for the year 2022/2023 was presented during a press conference in the Secretariat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.

Current challenges in charitable work carried out by Caritas Polska, diocesan Caritas and religious congregations, the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border and the situation of migrants and refugees were the main topics of the meeting of the Charities Commission of the Polish Bishops' Conference held on January 19 at the headquarters of Caritas Polska in Warsaw.
