Pope offers "spiritual medicine" to pilgrims at Angelus
(Vatican Radio) It’s time for another dose of the “spiritual medicine” Misericordin. Following the Angelus on Sunday, Pope Francis offered the faithful gathered in St Peter’s Square the gift of a small box, designed to look like a box of medicine, containing a small Rosary and an image of the Merciful Jesus.
The Pope drew attention to Archbishop Gadecki’s Speech
Speaking with the Polish delegation on October 10th, during the session’s break, Pope Francis expressed interest in the speech of the Synod Father from Poland, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki. The Pope said that he liked it, especially because a biblical scholar addressed a social issue. “The Holy Father drew attention to Archbishop Gądecki’s pertinent observations regarding the new totalitarianism that is shaping the attitudes of young people and destroying them,” reported Bishop Marian Florczyk, who was present at the meeting with the Pope.

Pope Mexico: Bishop Raul Vera Lopez on the legacy of Bishop Samuel Ruiz
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis took off from Rome’s Fiumicino airport this morning on an Apostolic visit to Mexico. While there he will celebrate Mass in the Basilica of Guadalupe, meet with families and young people and there will be a Meeting with the World of Culture. He will also make a visit to city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas and celebrate Holy Mass with the indigenous community of Chiapas. Our Correspondent Veronica Scarisbrick who is awaiting Pope Francis in Mexico, found out more about the community and it’s much loved late Bishop.
Pope in Mexico: Mass in Ecatepec shanty town
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis heads to the rough, crime-ridden neighborhood of Ecatepec - part of Mexico City’s suburbs - to celebrate Mass with people “on the periphery” on Sunday. The day will be in stark contrast to Saturday, when the Pope met Mexican government and civic authorities at the National Palace and later, bishops, at the grandiose Cathedral of the Assumption, and celebrated Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
