Pope Francis to open Lenten pastoral effort on social media
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis is the inaugural contributor to a Lenten pastoral effort of the Prelature of the Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. “Keep Lent” is an initiative of the Prelature’s youth ministry office, which reports several thousand subscribers already from throughout all of Italy and from around the world, including the United States.
Holy See to OSCE: Combat "headlong race for profit"
(Vatican Radio) The Holy See’s Permanent Observer to the OSCE, Msgr. Janusz Urbańczyk, on Thursday said the Vatican would like the organization to give “further attention given to the question of the responsible use of resources and their distribution, and to combatting their uncontrolled use in a headlong race for profit.”
Bishops of Congo call on nation to embrace love and forgiveness
Congo Brazzaville's Catholic newspaper, “La Semaine Africaine” reports this week that the Bishops of Congo Brazzaville, at the end of their Plenary Assembly, have released a pastoral statement calling on the people of the Republic of Congo to live their “Christian vocation as witnesses of God’s mercy to others.” This, the Bishops emphasise, “means showing God’s forgiveness, compassion, tenderness and love, to build a fairer Congo, where unity, reconciliation, dialogue, harmony and sharing take precedence over selfishness, hatred, rancour, vindictiveness and divisions,” the Bishops emphasise.

W ramach wielkopostnych rekolekcji na Twitterze zrobiono sondę zadając pytanie: Czy pamiętacie, kiedy przyjęliście #chrzest? Były trzy odpowiedzi: 1) Tak; 2) Nie; 3) Nie jestem ochrzczony/ochrzczona. Tylko 1% osób odpowiedziało, że nie są ochrzczone. Okazuje się, że w Polsce, podobnie jak i w wielu innych krajach niemal wszyscy użytkownicy cyberprzestrzeni są osobami ochrzczonymi. Na świecie takich osób jest… 2,4 miliarda. Czekają one na przekaz wiary na cyberkontynencie, na którym żyją, używając na co dzień komputera, telefonów, aplikacji, Internetu itp. Nic więc dziwnego, że wielkim zainteresowaniem cieszą się takie inicjatywy jak: rekolekcje online, krótkie filmy z komentarzem do Biblii czy wartościowe grafiki. Młodzież jest tutaj szczególnie twórcza.
