Podczas wizyty w Greccio, gdzie św. Franciszek zbudował pierwszy w historii żłóbek, Papież ogłosił list apostolski zatytułowany „Godny podziwu” o znaczeniu i wartości tego znaku. „Żłóbek jest jakby żywą Ewangelią. Ukazuje nam czułość Boga i to, że zniża się On do naszej małości” – napisał Ojciec Święty. Przypomniał też historię i znaczenie elementów, które się na niego składają.

150 provincial and general superiors representing active female religious institutes met in Warsaw at the 140th Plenary Assembly of the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious in Poland. This year’s assembly focused on the matters concerning formation. There are 17,553 Polish active nuns who serve in such areas of ecclesiastical and social life in Poland and abroad as educational work, various forms of youth assistance, catechization and other forms of evangelization, as well as spiritual and material help.
