Chciałbym, aby Światowy Dzień Ubogich mógł zakorzenić się jeszcze bardziej w naszych Kościołach lokalnych i otworzyć się na ruch ewangelizacyjny, który spotkałby w pierwszym rzędzie ubogich tam, gdzie oni się znajdują. Nie możemy czekać, aż zapukają do naszych drzwi. Pilnie potrzeba, abyśmy dotarli do nich w ich własnych domach, w szpitalach i w domach opieki, na ulicach i w ciemnych zaułkach - napisał Ojciec Święty Franciszek w orędziu na V Światowy Dzień Ubogich, który obchodzimy 14 listopada br.

Since 2005, the second Sunday of Lent has been dedicated to the concrete support of the missions, both through prayer and fasting, and through fundraising in the parishes. Last year, over 1.4 million PLN were raised, with which the missionaries carried out 99 evangelization, educational, medical and charity projects.
Caritas Polska Turns 30 – It Started with Three People
Caritas Polska is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Caritas began with three people working on the top floor of the seat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference. Today, it is the largest charity organization in Poland and its aid programs for approx. 3 million people are run by over 100,000 volunteers.

Pawel Rytel-Andrianik.
Włochy: zamknięto kolejne nielegalne meczety
Włoska policja zamknęła ostatnio pięć nielegalnie działających w Rzymie meczetów. Na te działania wyznawcy islamu odpowiedzieli „modlitewnym protestem”. W miniony piątek zebrali się przy wznoszącym się nieopodal Koloseum Łuku Konstantyna, upamiętniającym cesarza, który jako pierwszy dał chrześcijanom swobodę wyznania. Co więcej, decyzję włoskich władz potępiło też działające w Kairze Obserwatorium Przeciwko Islamofobii, zależne od rządu Egiptu. W specjalnym komunikacie podkreśliło ono, że „zamykanie meczetów może przyczynić się do wzmacniania radykalizmu i dawać ekstremistom usprawiedliwienie dla ich aktów kryminalnych”.
