Bishop Kiciński on the World Day for Consecrated Life: Consecrated persons are witnesses to the presence of Jesus in our midst
Consecrated persons, following the pure, poor and obedient Jesus, are witnesses of His presence among us. Fulfilling their vocation faithfully, they do everything to make God better known and loved – wrote Bishop Jacek Kiciński CMF, President of the Commission for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, in a letter for the World Day for Consecrated Life, which we will celebrate on 2 February, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
Ukraine: political turmoil adds to ongoing eastern crisis
(Vatican Radio) Germany and France have urged Ukraine to overcome political turmoil and move ahead with reforms needed to revive the economy and carry out the Minsk peace agreement amid reports of new deadly clashes in the east. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault came to Kiev at a time when the country faces its biggest political crisis since the ouster of the pro-Russian president after bloody protests in 2014.
Presentation of the book "Witnesses of the Resurrected"
(VIS/Vatican Radio) A press conference was held in the Holy See Press Office on Monday to present the book "Witnesses of the Resurrected", the proceedings of the annual formation course for new bishops organised by the Congregation for Bishops, edited by the Vatican Publishing House (LEV). The speakers were Cardinal Marc Ouellet, P.S.S., Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops; Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari, secretary of the same Congregation, and Archbishop Francesco Cacucci of Bari-Bitonto, rapporteur of the Course.
