All dioceses in Poland celebrated the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The Church in Poland has actively participated in celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, January 14. In many churches throughout the country there were masses celebrated according form “For Refugees and Exiles”. The Polish Bishops’ Conference appealed to the faithful to engage in specific assistance to migrants from the Middle East and Ukraine. There are 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.
About 500 million PLN was donated by the Polish Church to refugees from Ukraine
Catholic and Greek Catholic parishes in Poland collected and provided Ukrainian refugees staying in Poland with financial and material aid worth at least 209 million PLN, monks and friars donated - 29 million PLN, and nuns donated- 4.3 million PLN. The value of the support provided through Caritas Polska and diocesan Caritas is 241.3 million PLN - according to data presented on Wednesday by the Institute of Statistics of the Catholic Church and Caritas Polska.

Secretary General of Polish Episcopate: Persecuted Christians Need Our Support
Persecuted Christians need our support. They need our spiritual presence and material assistance," said Bishop Artur G. Miziński, Secretary General of the Polish Bishops' Conference, announcing the 15th Day of Solidarity with the Persecuted Church. It will be celebrated in the Church in Poland on Sunday, November 12, under the motto "This is always our home." This year, Aid to the Church in Need is paying particular attention to persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
Celebrations in Poznan of the 1050th anniversary of the first bishopric in Poland
The jubilee celebrations were held on 22-24 June under the motto “Poznan. Christ and us”. They were presided over by the papal legate Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague and Primate of the Czech Republic. The culminating moment of the three-day celebrations was the Eucharist, on June 23, on the square in front of the Poznan Cathedral, during which the message of Pope Francis was read. Several dozen bishops participated in it, including Apostolic Nuncio to Poland Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki, Archbishop Marek Jedraszewski and Archbishop Wojciech Polak.
