More than 100,000 volunteers from Polish dioceses help those in need
Touchless food parcels, warm meals for seniors and people in quarantine, food collections, hospital equipment, virtual workshops and homework for children as well as spiritual and psychological support – these are just some of the charitable initiatives carried out by the Church during the coronavirus epidemic. More than 100,000 volunteers from all 44 Polish dioceses are involved – said the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik.

- On behalf of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, we thank the organizers of the civic legislative initiative “Halt abortion”, volunteers collecting signatures, 830,000 of citizens who have signed up to this draft law and all the parliamentarians who – by voting for life – supported this civic draft law. We trust that soon the legal guarantees to protect the lives of the weakest will be increased by stopping eugenic abortion – to quote from the Communication of the Presidium of the Polish Bishops’ Conference from January 11, 2018.
Caritas Polska Turns 30 – It Started with Three People
Caritas Polska is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Caritas began with three people working on the top floor of the seat of the Polish Bishops’ Conference. Today, it is the largest charity organization in Poland and its aid programs for approx. 3 million people are run by over 100,000 volunteers.
Polish bishops thank God and people for the Jubilee of Youth 2025
Polish bishops accompanying Polish youth during the Jubilee of Youth in Rome expressed their gratitude to God and all those involved for the celebration of faith in a special video recording. The bishops thanked the young people for their enthusiasm and witness, the priests for their organisation and care, and the volunteers for their quiet service.

100,000 volunteers and 3,000 nuns involved in the help to the people affected by coronavirus, Holy Masses on line with a record participation of the faithful, many local assistance initiatives - we can say that Polish Catholics have definitely passed the exam during the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic – said Fr. Pawel Rytel-Andrianik, spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
